Agentic commerce audit

Can an AI agent buy from your store?

Agentic commerce is here. Since October 13, 2026, Shopify Shop MCP lets AI agents search the catalog and complete Shop Pay checkouts. Agent-Ready Store Audit runs an agentic commerce audit on your storefront: it reads your public pages and structured data, runs a simulated agent purchase path, and hands you a fix list in plain language.

The free plan covers 1 store and the core structural checks. The purchase-path probe is a simulation. It reads public pages, never logs in, never adds payment details and never places an order.

Sample ticket. A finished audit prints your store name, your score, and your fix list in this format.

Structural audit

26 deterministic checks on HTTPS, robots.txt, sitemap, product JSON-LD, prices, currency, availability, identifiers such as GTIN and brand, product feeds, shipping and returns pages, llms.txt and UCP discovery. Each check shows the evidence it found.

Simulated purchase path

The probe follows the steps an agent takes: open a product, find the add-to-cart path, reach the cart, find the checkout entry. It reports the step where an agent would stall. This is a simulation, labeled as one in every report.

Fix list and retest

Every failed check comes with a plain fix, sorted by impact. Fix the store, run a retest, and watch the score move. Stores that pass earn a shareable badge.

What the audit checks

Access. HTTPS, homepage reachability, robots.txt and whether agent crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot may read the store, sitemap coverage.

Catalog. The product feed at /products.json, JSON-LD Product data with price, currency and availability, GTIN or MPN and brand, descriptive titles, image alt text, currency consistency.

Policies. Shipping and returns pages that state cost, time and return window in text an agent can read, plus contact, privacy and terms pages.

Purchase path (simulation). Cart reachability, the add-to-cart path on a product page, and the checkout entry point.

Agent readiness. llms.txt, the UCP discovery file at /.well-known/ucp, and MCP readiness signals.

Questions

What is an agentic commerce audit?

An agentic commerce audit tests whether an AI shopping agent can complete a purchase from a store. Visibility tools such as Otterly and Peec AI measure whether assistants mention a brand. This audit measures the transaction side: product data, policies and the purchase path itself.

Is the purchase-path probe a real purchase?

No. The probe is a simulation. It reads public pages with plain HTTP requests and reports where an agent would stall. It never logs in, never adds payment details and never submits an order.

Which stores does it work on?

Any store with public product pages. The checks read structured data and feeds that Shopify, WooCommerce and custom stores publish. Shopify stores get the /products.json feed check for free, since Shopify serves that feed in public.

What does the badge mean?

A store earns the badge when its latest full audit scores 70 or more out of 100 with no failed check at the highest impact level. The badge image updates when a retest changes the result.

How much does it cost?

Free covers 1 store and the core structural checks. Pro is $49 per month and adds the full audit, the purchase-path probe, retest and the badge. Team is $149 per month and raises the store limit for agencies.
